What are you doing to develop yourself and what are you doing to develop other people?  These two questions and answers will determine your success in your personal and professional life.  I heard John C Maxwell say this at a Seminar I attended in Las Vegas.

I’ve also heard Dani Johnson dismiss “Self Help” as a selfish kind of development because the “Self” part of “Self Help” is Ego Centric.

They are both absolutely right.  I personally didn’t have all my money problems of having too little of it totally disappear til I helped enough other people solve money problems.  I didn’t boost my confidence til I began boosting other peoples confidence simply by being a genuine encourager, supporter, and complimenter whenever possible.  I didn’t start living on gratitude til I began giving gratitude to other people.

I witness the same in other people all the time.  I regularly see people on the other side of the fence making the mistake of, “How can I be happy?” and then never really finding happiness.  I regularly see people doing good by asking, “How can I be of service to others?” and then organically becoming Joyously Happy.

The great designer hard wired us this way to encourage us to work together and help each other out.  So learn to cooperate with the way we are wired as human beings. Sew good seed in other people every day.  Encourage, support, speak truth even if it hurts but with the aim of helping, be authentic, be loving, and be GENUINE when we do these things NOT patronizing or manipulating.  Every successful person knows the natural laws of sewing and reaping, and reaping and sewing. So be careful of what you sew you will reap a whirlwind of it.  No one gets more manipulated than the manipulator.  And no one gets help like the helper.

How does it feel to be consistent in your daily ritual only to consistently get little to no results, too?  “But Tom, I’ve just gotta stay consistent and it will eventually work!”.

I’m tellin ya, only being consistent is going to create lots of stress in a fruitless effort.  You can only take so much consistency with no results til you either make a major breakthrough, or, quit.

Consistency is enormously important but it’s only half right.  To say you only need to be consistent without addressing the other half that makes it all work is ridiculous because it’s a set up for stress without results.  The other half that makes being consistent work, and take all the stress away as your tree finally bears sweet fruit, is in my short video.  Check it out:

A fancy logo and graphically designed website by itself is not going to increase your influence or the effectiveness of your brand to mobilize anyone.

Branding is the position you are battling for in the mind of your visitors and others around you.  Are you battling for a favorable position in the wimpy persons mind, or are you battling for a favorable position in the STRONG persons mind?  How about for the person who is carrying on like a wimp but deep down there is a person of immense strength that they themselves aren’t even aware exists?  Are you batting for the wimpy or the STRONG in someone?  How you position yourself in the minds of others is what you will attract to you.  If you’re attracting wimps, ask yourself, “What am I doing to attract wimps?”

If you are trying to get something for nothing, you kind of ask for the problems you get. Ask to pay fair price for everything including developing yourself into a professional brand who is authentic and attracts who you desire to have more of in your life.

I would encourage you to get better instead of looking for an easier way.   When you let someone come into your life, or your deal, or whatever you’re doing, under false pretense of “easy, don’t have to challenge yourself or step out of your comfort zone etc”,  you are letting them set you up for someone to blame when it doesn’t work out for them.  Don’t buy someones “blame pill”.  Go through the worthwhile scenario of Branding the Authentic YOU and FEEL the stress in your life dramatically reduce as the peace  you FEEL goes up as you attract more of who and what you desire into your life.  Watch the videos below..

Let me explain.. I’ve been wrapping my mind around what has happened the past two weeks and still have more to go. It was MAGICAL thanks to the other people in my life I’ve chosen to surround myself with.

First, thank you to Sian Lindemann for step up and playing big instead of small. You started something that had an unbelievable chain reaction that will live forever. Can’t wait to do more this is just the beginning.

Andrea Noble you also played BIG instead of small. I merely mentioned “ok all our flights have been cancelled sooooooooo feel like driving to saint augusting FL from wisconsin, and through a blizzard that happens to be freaking out the state of georgia? You jumped up and said YES! This of course was right after you enrolled yourself into a home business that most people won’t do which lead to you retiring from your Job just a few months later. AMAZING. You are incredible to travel with. You’re an incredible friend, period. This isn’t just a business it’s so much MORe and so much BIGGER than a business or a single person. These connections we are making makes is richer than the ridiculous large sums of money is making is richer.

Denise Jolly, Ricky Fleischman, and puppies, thank you for spending so much time with us for a full week! You made us feel welcomed, cozy, and even emotional in a good way. The only thing more awesome than the location you live is YOU personally. Saint augustine FL is a beautiful tropical oasis, but, I can honestly say its you who brings me back there more than the climate and historic city. Love you both. Can’t wait to see you again!!!!

Melissa Starr and family.. You’ve always been one of my best friends. I have no doubt you’ll always be one of my best friends. New Orleans, biloxi, shaggys, Gulfport, the climate you live, all just icing on an already awesome cake that doesn’t even need any icing in the first place. Love you all. I’m so glad we’ve connected on this earth, however it happened, and have blossomed a beautiful meaningful friendship out of it.

This is a very public post and very much on purpose. Friends, there is no way I would have been able to turn, very last minute, what was originally going to be a three day trip into a magical two week trip with people that I love and care about in beautiful locations of the country during this time of year if I had a job building someone elses dream. People have many GREAT ideas and reasons for wanting to be self employed in a team that covers for one another. But, honestly, you still have No Clue whatsoever what it means to be self employed in a way that brings you FREEDOM until stuff like this (that you cannot predict) happens. I cannot imagine running this by a gatekeeper (an employer) to do this, and change things up and extend my trip as I have. There is no freedom (regardless if you love or hate your job) if you have no passive residual income from an asset that you own that covers all of your expenses. I’m feeling really emotional right now because of all the people I’m bringing with me, and coming to realize more and more with every adventure what this means to me and so many other people. Read this and let it inspire you friends. You were meant for more. Play bigger than you have up to this point. Draw a line in the sand and play big beginning today you’ve got a Dream to build, don’t you?
