My thoughts on the current state of, "We the People"

John Kerry, George bush, republican or democrat? Does it really make a difference?

Both sides are counting on the ignorance of the American people to not do there fact checking. Both sides tell only half truths and manipulating truths to look more appealing to voters.

Fact is it is we the people who gave ourselves the ultra crappy choices in presidential candidates this term, as well as in 2000. Every poll out there that I know of indicates the overwhelming majority of registered voters are going to vote for there candidate not because they believe in him, but because they don’t want the other guy to win. We the people as a whole are responsible for the candidates we gave our selves to pick from. We the people are slitting our own throats of free democracy because we don’t vote for who we believe in and more people vote for American Idol than they do the president of the United States.  What's worse is that half of us don't even vote at all.  We the people inherited a free democracy and half of us don't even care about our freedom enough to vote for our president.  We the people are self centered, lazy, arrogant brats who take freedom for granted.  We complain so much about our elected leaders but half of us won't even vote and most of us who do vote will vote based on character and style rather than substance or quality.   Our elected leaders are a direct reflection of we the people.   If our elected leaders are idiots it is because WE the people are idiots.  Both sides, republicans and democrats, are counting on the ignorance of the American people.   That's what all of there campaigning is about.   The half truths, the manipulations, the constant rebuttals and even the outright lies.

My point is, both sides, bush supporters and Kerry supporters can go back and fourth all they want but whatever negative thing can be said about one side can just as well be said about the other.  If your choosing Bush or Kerry, what makes your candidate any better than the other?  Did the candidate you support make a better sales pitch for you personally?

If everyone paid more attention to there free inherited democracy than they do the current trend of reality TV programming and voted for someone they actually believed in, or even bothered to VOTE at all, we might have a shot at having a new kind of president who could lead us more efficiently and actually be fully honest and fourth coming with us.
