Greetings friends!  

It has been a busy couple of months and has been a while since the last Eyes of fire Newsletter so I wanted to let you all know what has been going on with Eyes of fire. 

April 17th was Milwaukee's Annual Spoof Fest and it was a VERY good time.  In my last newsletter I had talked a little bit about that.   We were the first band to go on and the band we spoofed was RATT.  I played the part of Warren De Martini and let me tell you those were not the easiest shoes to fill!  I did pull it off very well and had so much fun on stage.  I did not want to leave.  We played a half hour set with nothing but Ratts power hits.  The more soft songs we just left out.  The set was truly a power set.  After every song and every guitar solo we received very generous rounds of applauses and screams.   That really makes a person onstage feel good and that energy is certainly returned through performance.   There is a DVD video that the venue put together of the entire thing.   As I understand it, its going to cost ten dollars with shipping and handling all included.   So if you did not get a chance to see me play out you can catch me on DVD video.   The video I am told, will not be available till late June/early July.  To place your order you can contact the vendor directly at [email protected].   I encourage everyone to do so.  This truly was a great show and a DVD video could not be any cheaper in dollars.

Current Eyes of Fire news -

Now that Spoof fest is over and has been for over a month now.  I have been really busy again with Eyes of Fire projects.  I have a new album (Album # four) completely finished with the exception of the art work cover.  Hopefully I will have the entire package ready for release before summer.  A good friend of mine is doing the cover art and has a lot of other things going on at the moment.   When its finished though I am confident it is going to look great!   The music has an overall Nordic Theme to it.  The title of the album will be, "Freyja's Tear".  I have it announced at http://www.eyesoffire.net. 

About Freyja  -

Freyja is the Norse Goddess of Love, marriage and fertility who commanded the Valkyries whom were Warrior Maidens that rode through the air in brilliant Armor, directed battles, distributed death lots among the warriors and conducted the souls of the slain heroes to Valhalla, the great hall of Odin.  There leader is Freyja.   Freyja is blond haired, blue-eyed and very beautiful.  She traveled on a golden-bristled boar or in a chariot drawn by her two cats.  She resided in the celestial realm of Folkvang where it was her privilege to receive half of all the warriors slain in battle.  The god Odin received the other half at Valhalla.  As beautiful, powerful and commanding as Freyja is in appearance, her demonstration of love, comfort and compassion is truly her most valuable, understood and most powerful trait.

Looking Ahead -

Eyes of Fire Album # five will be released most likely later this year before the Christmas holidays.   Most of the songs are already written and recorded.  The album still has yet to be titled.  The cover is most likely going to be done by my friend LeatherNun.   LeatherNun Also did the Offerings in Metal Cover http://eyesoffire.net/demo/eof2.htm so we already know this artist does excellent cover art work.

Unfortunately there are no shows lined up right now.  The Ratt spoof band was only a one time thing.  So, I will need to find or form another band before I can start thinking about playing out again.  Hopefully I will find that band or that band will find me soon.  Playing out is a TON of fun.
