Freyja’s Tear –

Intrigued about the whole myth and legend of Freyja, I wanted to put a Nordic theme to this musical project. The pendant of Freyja you see on the cover belongs to a necklace of mine. Some of these songs were written and recorded six or seven years ago during the release of the first Eyes of Fire demonstration from 1997 such as, “Arms of a Valkyrie”, “11th hour”, “Wanda” and “Cats of Asatru”. “Falling into Serenity” is the only one that has been written and recorded recently in January of 2004 this year. My next musical project which is still un titled and to be released most likely later this year before Christmas will also be a mixture of mostly new and very few old songs that I have not done anything with until now. Stay updated on that at http://www.eyesoffire.net

About Freyja –

Freyja is the Norse Goddess of Love, marriage and fertility who commanded the Valkyries whom were Warrior Maidens that rode through the air in brilliant Armor, directed battles, distributed death lots among the warriors and conducted the souls of the slain heroes to Valhalla, the great hall of Odin. There leader is Freyja. Freyja is blond haired, blue-eyed and very beautiful. She traveled on a golden-bristled boar or in a chariot drawn by her two cats. She resided in the celestial realm of Folkvang where it was her privilege to receive half of all the warriors slain in battle. The god Odin received the other half at Valhalla. As beautiful, powerful and commanding as Freyja is in appearance, her demonstration of love, comfort and compassion is truly her most valuable, understood and most powerful trait.
