Sometimes Change Sucks. So What?

Yes change is opportunity for growth and all that; you’ve heard it before.  If you’ve shrunk and become callous to truth does that change the truth?  Nope.  Change still equals opportunity for growth and growth equals life.  Excellent!  So bring on the change.

Sometimes change can kinda suck to.  When it sucks is that not part of the opportunity for growth?  I know I’m sounding all philosophical here but that’s because I am.

If something “bad” happens to you, or me, and there is nothing you can do about it then why focus on it?  If you shift your focus to what you do about what happens to you, you then have the way to live by design rather than by default.   Sometimes the stuff that happens to you is just so lousy but you still have absolutely no control over what happens to you.  If you keep your focus on what happens to you then you also feel completely helpless; because you are helpless with that kind of focus!

Switch out that focus for a new focus of what to do about what happened.  What are you going to do about stuff that happens to you that you have no control over?  How will you respond?  Are you going to keep your focus on what happened to you and remain your own prisoner or are you going to shift your focus on what to do about what happens to you and finally make some worthwhile breakthroughs in your life?

Toms Raw Kale Vegan Salad

I just made this one up this afternoon for something a little bit different for lunch.  I hit the nail right on the head my first time trying it so I wanted to share it with all of you!  Lots of super food ingredients to help activate and reactivate your body to enable its own natural healing mechanisms.  The healthy fat calories from the avocado will make you feel satiated longer.  Take note at how your energy is after eating something like this.  You’re going to find that you feel better, you have more natural energy, and better mental clarity and focus than you would after eating lots of meat or food with artificial ingredients in them.

– Kale
– Avocado
– Onion
– Tomato
– Artichoke
– Pitted Kalamata Olives
– Course Fresh Ground Pepper
– Cayenne Pepper Powder

Mash the avocado, chop up the onion, tamato and artichoke hearts how ever you’d like, cut the olives in halves or quarters, and rip apart the kale with your hands.  Combine all ingredients so far into a mixing bowl and stir.  Add Course fresh ground pepper and Cayenne pepper powder to taste.  You can even add some crystal Himalayan pink salt if you would like. Pretty quick and simple and even more so tasty!

Raw Vegan Gluten Free Tacos and Wraps Oh My!

Where’s the beef?! This has more BEEF than beef itself! It has more flavor than meat and potatoes and enough raw material to help your body enable its own natural healing mechanisms to help you prevent, stop, and even reverse any illness or Chronic disease. No fillers, artificial flavors, unsaturated fats, Gmos or anything that makes people sick and tastes so much better than the junk that does make people sick =) I LOVE this kind of food! Have I mentioned that yet? I’m very enthusiastic to share this with you to help you find ways of lovin the food that’s helping you to reclaim your health and Yourself!

– Cayenne Pepper Powder
– Tomato
– Red Onion
– Zucchini
– Avocado
– Gluten Free Tacos or Gluten Free Wraps

*optional – any other natural herb, spice, or fresh veggie that you enjoy

I never measure out the ingredients.   Just chop them up as fine or as chunky as you like.  Obviously I love chunky style as you can see in the picture.  Nothing is cooked whatsoever.  The avocado provides more flavor an an already wonderful flavor party and plenty of Healthy Fats.  If you’re watching your calories go light on the Avocado.  Everything compliments one another but what really gives this more BEEF than beef and more flavor than meat and potatoes is the Cayenne pepper powder.  I almost always sprinkle that on my raw vegan dishes.  I like it much more than course ground black pepper.  Sometimes I’ll add that and a little bit of sea salt but all it has to have is that awesome wonderful Cayenne pepper.  It’s spicy hot so go VERY easy with the Cayenne pepper if you like mild food.   Since its powder form its simple to make as mild or hot as you like.

You can experiment with your own mix of fresh raw veggies to it doesn’t have to be just like this one.  The possibilities are endless and this is so easy and healthy I felt compelled to share it with you!  Let it spark some creativity in your own dishes you prepare.  If you make up something completely scrumptiously delicious I would be in heaven if you share it on my Facebook page =)

Facts Successful People Live By

I’m interested in Massively Shrinking that 97% side and seeing a ridiculous number of people outrageously happier than they are now.  It’s going to take loads of self criticism along with self love rather than self scorn and judgement.  It’s going to take people being human with one another.  No talking down to or tearing down your fellow man or woman.  Be honest and transparent about your mistakes and hardships but with a positive aim not for emotional dumping.

It might be uncomfortable to be transparent about how you’ve messed up but that’s how you make the most powerful human connections and set a stage for lifting one another up.  You will have to totally kill your ego to be transparent like this but you will do so much to help people who will in turn help you.  That’s the synergy of lifting each other up.

Vegan Chocolate Recipe

A ridiculously healthy and outrageously delicious Recipe for Vegan Chocolate Meal shake created by Tom Birkenmeyer ( hey that’s me!) and Jacqueline Koepfer. Look Jackie up on my facebook!

You can follow this exactly how it is here, use it for your own ideas, replace the optionals for your own ideas, or if you want to make the Vegan Chocolate taste like the Original non Vegan Chocolate shakeology just use the base ingredients and swap out the optionals with your favorite recipe. One of the things I love about shakeology is that I think it tastes great either by itself or as a base for endless other recipes for something different every day.

Base:
1 Scoop of Chocolate Vegan Shakeology
1 tsp of Chocolate Cocoa powder
1/2 – 1 tsp of pure fructose found at most health food stores

Optional:
1/2 cup of unsweetened coconut almond milk or unsweetened chocolate almond milk
1/2 cup water
frozen berries of your choosing my favorites are blueberries or strawberries
2 tbsp of Chocolate pb2.

Since you are only replacing one or two meals a day with shakeology and there is no such thing as a monotherapy to getting healthy you still have to eat at least reasonably the rest of the day. Check out my Health Grocery List to help you along your journey.

The Great Illusion of Going for Easy

The great illusion of going for easy is that it creates an easier life. Ive found that going for worthwhile creates an easier life than going for easy does.

Worthwhile is hidden by delayed gratification so right off the bat most people miss it and go for easy making their lives harder.

Instant gratification syndrome is one of the largest killers out there. The fast food restaurants know it you’re giving them billions of your families money in exchange for chronic diseases and massive financial debt that will take you down and out of your life because you thought it was easier to go for the convenience.

Don’t believe me? Follow the money trail of the bulk majority of fast food goers. They are in debt, their kids slander them at school, and they are chronically diseased. But some of them will change into healthy life style that brings them out of debt, out of disease ville, and into restored relationships with their families. Some will make this AWESOME change.

8 out of 10 wont’ and are dying chronically diseased and in massive debt.  More than anything the 8 out of 10 are missing peace in their lives because they subscribed to the illusion they were sold on going for easy. Don’t be the 8 out of 10. Dont be the 2 out of 10. Be the 1 out of 100 who changes and leads others into change.  And don’t you dare let the majority sell you on the great illusion of going for easy.

Action vs. Self-Delusion by Jim Rohn

Knowledge fueled by emotion equals action. Action is the ingredient that ensures results. Only action can cause reaction. Further, only positive action can cause positive reaction.

Action. The whole world loves to watch those who make things happen, and it rewards them for causing waves of productive enterprise.

I stress this because today I see many people who are really sold on affirmations. And yet there is a famous saying that “faith without action serves no useful purpose.” How true!

I have nothing against affirmations as a tool to create action. Repeated to reinforce a disciplined plan, affirmations can help create wonderful results.

But there is also a very thin line between faith and folly. You see, affirmations without action can be the beginnings of self-delusion. And for your well-being, there is little worse than self-delusion.

The man who dreams of wealth, and yet walks daily toward certain financial disaster, and the woman who wishes for happiness, and yet thinks thoughts and commits acts that lead her toward certain despair, are both victims of the false hope that affirmations without action can manufacture. Why? Because words soothe and, like a narcotic, they lull us into a state of complacency. Remember this: To make progress, you must actually get started!

The key is to take a step today. Whatever the project, start today. Start clearing out a drawer of your newly organized desk-today. Start setting your first goal-today. Start listening to motivational programs-today. Start a sensible weight-reduction plan-today. Start calling on one tough customer a day-today. Start putting money in your new “investment for fortune” account-today. Write a long-overdue letter-today. Anyone can! Even an uninspired person can start reading inspiring books.

Get some momentum going on your new commitment for the good life. See how many activities you can pile on your new commitment to the better life. Go all out! Break away from the downward pull of gravity. Start your thrusters going. Prove to yourself that the waiting is over and the hoping is past, that faith and action have now taken charge.

It’s a new day, a new beginning for your new life. With discipline, you will be amazed at how much progress you’ll be able to make. What have you got to lose except the guilt and fear of the past?

Now, I offer you this challenge: See how many things you can start and continue in this, the first day of your new beginning.
